Mar. 31 - An official with the Chinese Ministry of Labour and Social
Security says 750 million people were employed in 2004, an increase of
7.6 million from the previous year.
Mo Rong, Deputy Director of the Institute for Labour Studies under the
Ministry, said that macro-control policies helped China's economy develop
smoothly last year, providing more job opportunities.
He added that the employment policy improvements also led to more
opportunites in the job market.
However, he pointed out that there was still a labor shortage in the
technical sector.
