China's CPI rose 3.9% in Feb

Chinanews, March 13 - China's Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 3.9% in
February, year-on-year, an increase of 1.8% over that of January,
according to figures released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS)
last Friday. The bureau said that the CPI in urban and rural areas in
February grew 3.6% and 4.5% year-on-year, respectively.
In terms of regions, the CPI in the nation's 31 provinces, municipalities
and autonomous regions all witnessed a year-on-year increase ranging from
0.9% to 5.7%.
In terms of categories, NBS figures indicate that in February, the price
of food rose 8.8% year-on-year, while that of non-food items grew 1.4%.
Consumer products and services grew 3.9% and 4.2% year-on-year,
respectively.
